PARTNERS IN MS CARE

MS Cares

Partners in MS Care is a National MS Society program that recognizes and supports quality MS care. The Society believes that people living with MS receive optimal care and support when strong collaborative relationships exist between health care professionals and the Society.

Our new MS Care partner is, NorthShore University HealthSystem MS Center, directed by Dr. Afif Hentati and Dr. Susan Rubin, with more than 900 active patients, serving Chicago's North Shore. Within the neurology practice, Dr. Zulma Hernandez also sees patients with multiple sclerosis. Care is coordinated by nurses Maryann Kavanagh and Terri Gehrke. With admitting privileges at Evanston, Glenbrook, and Highland Park hospitals, the neurologists can direct people to all comprehensive and emergency services. Both directors are members of the chapter’s Clinical Advisory Committee and participate as regular speakers at the annual research symposium as well as at support groups.

MS RESEARCH

The Greater Illinois Chapter continues to be at the forefront of MS research. Over the past year, the National MS Society has invested over $40 million to support more than 325 new and ongoing research projects around the world.

On this website, you can find the latest news and trends in MS research, including information about how to get involved and stay informed, research studies and clinical trials taking place in your area, details about the Chapter’s two Research Symposiums, profiles of statewide researchers, links to the Society’s national research page, and more.
