Bike MS: Tour de Farms 2012 a Record-Breaker!

The Chapter would like to say thank you to this year's Bike MS: Tour de Farms participants and volunteers. In June, a record-breaking more than 2,300 cyclists took to the countryside around DeKalb Illinois, and to-date have raised $1.4 million--nearly 90% of our goal! Live in Central Illinois? You're invited to attend Regional Research Symposium 2012, a free, half-day discussion of MS research news and trends, on Saturday, August 25, at Par-a-Dice Hotel in East Peoria. The program will include a keynote update on treatment options by Dennis Garwacki, MD, INI MS Center, a presentation on coping with MS by Tamara Lott, LCPC, One Counseling and Wellness, and a presentation and panel discussion on vision and MS, presented and moderated by John Pula, MD, with Robert Motl, PhD, and Jacob Sosnoff, PhD. Complimentary buffet breakfast included.

Care Partners, Boost Problem-Solving Skills at "Meeting the Challenges of MS", Beginning Thursday, September 20, in East Peoria

Register now for the next round of our special, five-week workshop series for care partners. Learn to feel more confident in your abilities to provide support and assistance to persons with MS, while taking care of your own health and well-being. The series begins Thursday, September 20, in East Peoria and meets weekly on Thursday evenings through October 18.

Newly Diagnosed? Ask First-Time Questions at "Success with MS", Beginning Tuesday, July 24, in Urbana

The Greater Illinois Chapter invites you to attend Success with MS, a free, two-part educational series for people who have been newly diagnosed with MS--and those who are ready to ask first-time questions about their diagnosis. The workshop series begins Tuesday, July 24 at the Urbana Free Library in Urbana. But you don't need to live in Urbana to attend--if you're within driving distance, you're welcome to register!
