Crusin' for a Cure Raises $3,865 for MS Society

Ben Switalski was diagnosed with MS in October 2010. Seven months later, his friends and family hosted a car show fundraiser, Cruisin’ for a Cure, in Yorkville that raised $3,865 in May 2011 for the movement to end MS. Chapter Welcomes New Board of Trustees Chair Sean Gallagher

At the Chapter's annual meeting on Saturday, October 1, Sean Gallagher was elected Chair of the Board of Trustees. Sean has been a fixture with the Chapter for some time. He's a regular Bike MS team captain and major fundraiser, and served as Vice Chairman under exiting Board Chair Chad Smith. All at the Chapter would like to extend our congratulations to Sean as we look forward to his continued service and leadership in the movement to end MS forever.

MS Soirée Raises More than $54,000

On Saturday, November 12, theWit Hotel in downtown Chicago hosted a sell-out crowd of 450 guests for MS Soirée, the annual cocktailing evening of Multiple Solutions, the Chapter's junior board and auxiliary group. The night included delicious food and complimentary drinks, a live band, a silent auction, a free casino night, and a raffle where a lucky attendee won a six-night stay in a Maui, Hawaii condo. Many thanks to all who came. We can’t wait until next year to make it even better!

HUD Grants Help Improve Housing for Elderly & People with Disabilities

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced $749 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across the country that produce accessible housing, offer rental assistance, and facilitate supportive services for the elderly and people with disabilities. The grants will kick start construction or major rehabilitation on more than 189 housing developments in 42 different states and Puerto Rico. To learn more, click below to read the press release.
