An Evening of Unity, Learning

More than 200 people attended Champions for a Cure at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, which included a reception, dinner and informative program. Medical professionals mingled with donors, fund-raisers and people living with MS, enjoying a great dinner while learning about the latest MS research from noted experts and the Society's CEO.

Adaptive Yoga Connected Mind, Body, People

Earlier this month we brought together 17 yoga instructors to learn techniques for teaching yoga to people with MS. The following day, the gurus put their new knowledge to practice, leading clients and their families in 2 1/2 hours of yoga and fun!

Finding Better Quality of Life with MS
When one client’s 17-year-old son contacted the Information Resource Center with financial concerns, the Greater Illinois Chapter’s Service Management team was there to help.  The boy and his father, who lives with MS, were on a fixed income, with only Social Security Disability income to cover all their living expenses. They had little money for food and other necessities and were in need of guidance.Read more here:

Mike Cordes ran the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as part of the Greater Illinois Chapter’s first Run to Stop MS team, in honor of his son who has MS.  “I survived the marathon,” he said.  “It was hot, and my finish time was not what I would have liked, but I can truly say that emotionally this was my best one yet.Read more here:"
